The Pan-American Marine Energy Conference (PAMEC) will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 10–15 April 2026. The conference brings together researchers, industry representatives and policymakers working with marine renewable energy, including wave and tidal power.

For the wave energy community, events like PAMEC are important arenas for sharing new research, discussing technical challenges and gaining insight into the latest technological developments in the field.

One of the researchers involved in the INFINITY project, Giuseppe Giorgi, Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Torino, will attend the conference. Giuseppe contributes to INFINITY through his work on control and modelling of wave energy systems, helping strengthen the link between theoretical control methods and the practical requirements involved in developing and testing the PTO and its associated control strategies.

– I’m looking forward to attending PAMEC and meeting colleagues working with marine energy from different parts of the world,” says Giuseppe Giorgi. “It’s always inspiring to hear about new ideas and approaches, and it’s a good opportunity to reflect on how our own research fits into the broader development of wave energy.
